Walk for Memories
The Alzheimer Society of Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma District is a charitable organization that was formed in 1985 and is a leading health care organization for people affected by dementia in the Algoma district. The Society provides enhanced support and education services for people with the disease, their families, and their caregivers. To promote the benefits of early diagnosis, this January was Alzheimer Awareness month and the Alzheimer Society held the Walk for Memories at White Pines C&VS. The Walk For Memories is the largest fundraising event in the province dedicated to increasing awareness and raising funds for vital programs and services that support people living with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias.
